Django

Django is an interesting Spaghetti Western, but not a very good movie. It follows the mysterious titular character as he skulks through a muddy, ruined town dragging a coffin behind him, and he plays some dudes against each other, I'm not sure, it was a pretty confusing mess. All of the imagery is striking, such as the aforementioned coffin, everything being drenched in mud, and the claustrophobic design of the town, but the dub is an awful translation and the motivations of Django are never clear. Oh well, I guess you can't beat Leone at his own game it turns out.

RATING: 56%

Sukiyaki Western Django is a bizarre but interesting response to this film, if you are interested.
