Batman: Dark Detective

Apparently these two guys who wrote this Batman mini wrote some great run on 'Tec back in the 70s, and you sure can tell because the writing style has "70s" and "Silver Age" plastered all over it. It would have been fun if it was just two or three issues, but it just drags on and on, dealing with the Joker running for governor, Batman falling in love again with Silver St. Cloud, and a Two Face making an all good and all evil clone of himself. Hooo, boy, this sure sounds stupid and is. The best part about the whole series is Joker, who is pretty funny and murderous at the same time, but one thing I've determined in all the Batman comics I've ever read is that anybody can write the Joker well. And you know, the idea of Joker running for governor is a great one, because you could talk about celebrities and politics, and even how a homicidal maniac like Joker would probably get a significant portion of the votes in todays society. But these guys just drop the story after the first issue and never really take it seriously.
