This is Sonic Youth's most recent studio album, and it's probably the most radio friendly album they've had since 1992. Rather than the epic 20 minute noisescapes we've grown to know and love, most of these songs are under five minutes and have nice, pretty melodies. A couple of times (Pink Steam, Sleepin' Around) they trick you into thinking it's going to be some noising, but then it calms down. It still has some great reaching guitar parts, and it's a lovely album, so if you haven't done me a favor in a while why don't you buy it? For the kids? Did I already end a review like that?(Sorry for not drawing the cover - it looked way too complex)
