SLC Punk!

Sex, drugs and salt flats. SLC Punk! is a coming-of-age story set in Salt Lake City in the mid-1980s. Having just finished college, our heroes Stevo and Heroin Bob are faced with the empty expanse that is their collective futures. With maturity and “selling out” nipping at their heels, Stevo and Bob attempt to maintain their punky status quo armed only with nihilism and alcohol. SLC Punk! probably features Matthew Lillard’s greatest ever performance in a film. He is the lead character and also the narrator, delivering many of his lines directly to the audience. The supporting cast is quite good as well, with standout contributions from Devon Sawa, Jason Segel, Annabeth Gish, Christopher McDonald and Til Schweiger. And, thankfully, the soundtrack features plenty of memorable tracks from bands like The Exploited, Fear, The Stooges, The Specials, The Velvet Underground, Blondie, The Ramones and Dead Kennedys.
