Allow me to sum up the plot of every Terrence Malick movie for you: pretty. They're all pretty much excuses for 2 hours of beautiful scenery, and this one's no different. I guess there's some kind of story about sharecroppers and a rich farmer (I find it difficult to watch movies or tv shows where somebody who's totally nice is deceived by the people you're supposed to be rooting for, but I suppose that's what makes things complex), but basically this movie is just an excuse to show the natural scenic beauty that is north Texas, and by north Texas I mean Alberta because that's where it was shot.
