Blackberry Pearl

The Blackberry Pearl is a fantastic device that puts all the features of a Blackberry into a nice little phone sized package, as opposed to other Blackberries that are wider. I like that it's small, but that comes with the downside that the keyboard is also small. I have tiny little girl fingers and I still think it's a little cramped. I've basically decided that when my contract with T-Mobile is out I will either get a full sized Blackberry or an iPhone. (I love Blackberry, but the thought of having my ipod and phone in one convenient package is just too tempting.) But if you can deal with having the size of the keyboard it's a good option for those of us who like to occasionally carry our phone in our pockets.

It's like my birthday! Thanks Laurie.

Yeah I don't think I would want to listen to music on my phone, so I might join up with Blackberry sometime soon. Also since moving down here, I barely listen to portable music; it's all the same CD in my car playing old Lil' Kim and new (god help me) Taylor Swift.

Blackberries were invented in Canada, which is funny because I don't know any Canadians who own one. It's like everyone thinks we're just up to our balls in lobster up there, but noooo, we have to sell it all to you motherfuckers.

And the Japs.

I don't think Canadians are smart enough to use Blackberries. Do you even have electricity up there?

We will do all our V3 planning on our cute little Blackberries.

We have electricity on the odd days of every month. On the even days, we have to sleep with the sled dogs to keep warm.

Btw loco, that picture I put up has the theme I use on my BB. It makes it look like an iphone instead of a fugly pc. I know it sounds a little gay to make my BB look like an iphone, but it's a lot prettier that way.

Wait... you can what? I feel like your grandma. I have no idea what these tiny machines are capable of. Maybe I'm not ready yet. Or maybe I just need to spend many hours playing lovingly with one at the cell store.

Okay, look at the screen on the picture I posted and compare it to the one here. See how the first one looks less fugly? It makes more sense when you see it in person.

So you can just download the pretty screen?

Is it annoying not to have a qwerty? Does it guess the words you type right?

Is there a browser does it work good I have so many questions!!!

Yeah, the pretty screen is a theme you download. Like when you chose a theme on Windows and the color of your browsers border and the wallpaper changes. Does that make sense?

It has a querty, but there are two letters for each key. So it's sort of like a squished together querty. It is annoying that the keypad is small, but not really that there is more than one letter on each key. The word recognition software is pretty good IF your spelling is correct. It's actually made my spelling a bit better I think because now I have incentive to give a crap.

There is a browser and it works. It's a really nice way to prove your friends wrong when you are having an argument about something. Or to look up a phone number to a restaurant that you want to get take out from on the way home. Or to read wonkette when you are bored (which is what mine gets used for a lot).

You should go to a store and play with one.

What I find odd is if you send someone an email, and they are away from their computer but they have their Blackberry, they will read that email immediately. However, if they're in front of their computer, and the same email arrives, they won't bother to read the damn thing for hours if not days. What is it about that tiny 2-by-2 inch that motivates them.
