Slavery

Slavery is what it is called when somebody is held against their will and forced to do things until they probably die. Some may call the record of slavery in the United States one of the worst atrocities in all of human history, the economic and social ghosts of which are still felt to this day. Others, with whom I work, may say that African-Americans actually sold themselves into slavery, and they got to sing and stuff while working so it was probably not that bad for them. Huh, who knew?

RATING: 0% all around.

I'd really like to know how that "sold yourself into slavery" argument goes.

They got to sing while working? Man, I gotta rethink this whole "slavery is a crime against humanity" thing. What about people who get to sing while being raped?

I don't think it's actually possible to sell yourself into slavery. If you're willing, then it's not technically slavery anymore. But saying "Some Africans sold other, different Africans into slavery while other Africans were just kidnapped and enslaved directly by Europeans" doesn't quite have the same ring to it, I suppose.

Did the poor souls whipped into building the Egyptian pyramids get to sing too?

It seems Africans had a hand in slavery and even kept it in country, but they weren't alone in the world with this foul practice.

Yes, (not), we should value your subpar observations when you can't even spell simple words like "aslo" and "jon." What a buffoon!

That's John from Daejeon.
