After their latest mission hits a snag, Lanny and Wayne are called into Santa’s office. Wayne, hoping to downplay his mistake, tells Santa about some of the other snafus he’s overcome on recent missions. Where the first two Prep & Landing specials, along with the Operation: Secret Santa short, have played out like mini action movies, The Snowball Protocol comes across more like a Christmas themed sitcom episode. One where the grumpy guy learns a valuable lesson about friendship. And as fun as some of the worldbuilding elements are in The Snowball Protocol, it would have been nicer to have this new special focus on a bigger story. Especially since it’s been over a decade since these characters had a chance to shine.

12 More Days of Christmas Specials: Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice
I wanted to kick off the holidays on a positive note this
year, which is why I decided to lead off my annual Christmas Special binge with
Prep & Landing: Naughty vs. Nice. I really enjoyed watching the original
Prep & Landing special last year and I can happily say that the sequel does
not disappoint. Everybody’s favourite elves Lanny and Wayne are joined by Noel,
Wayne’s charismatic younger brother (voiced by Rob Riggle). The trio are on a
mission from Santa to recover some North Pole technology stolen by a young
hacker known only as jinglesmell1337 (yes, you are old and internet lingo has
become the domain of children). Will

Another 12 Days of Christmas Specials: Prep & Landing
After wallowing in the woe that was ALF's Special Christmas, it was so nice to watch a nice, wholesome, entertaining Christmas Special like Disney's Prep & Landing. I'm guessing that Disney's ownership of Pixar helped tremondously in both the story and visual construction of this special. The character designs are fantastic and the story is well written, relaying a fast paced story that will appeal to kids but not make anyone over the age of 9 want to kill themselves. The special follows Wayne, one of Santa's elves in the Prep and Landing department (voiced by former Kids in the Hall member Dave Foley), who's feeling down after being passed over for a big promotion. Wayne is depressed over his failing career but the special does well not to dwell on it, we never come anywhere near ALF level misery here. So on the big night, Wayne and Lanny, Wayne's overly enthusiastic rookie partner, run in to some trouble prepping little Timmy's house and delightful (though predictable) hijinks ensue. I can honestly say that Prep & Landing was a nice, fun Christmas Special. One that I will likely revisit in the coming years.Rating: A New Bike%
