We are probably all in agreement that George Romero's Dawn Of The Dead is one of the greatest horror movies of all time. Well, I think so. So when I finally got the opportunity to see him do zombies on the big screen I was totally psyched. It turns out the movie is good, but for anybody unfamiliar with Romero's zombie movies I bet it's a confusing mess. For instance, this takes place many years after zombies have already destroyed society with no explanation, so everybody is holed up in this walled off city to protect themselves. That's fine if you've seen Night, Dawn, and Day many times like I have, but if you're just some friend who got dragged to see this by me then maybe you are still angry or something. At least there's a lot of good gore.

Is this the one we saw together?
Yeah, we saw this together, in addition to Sky Captain, Elektra, and Hitchhiker's Guide.
I like John Leguizamo but I thought this movie was pretty bad. It's nice to see you're getting too lazy to draw, though.
I thought the social commentary was way more blatant in Land (which is saying something, considering it wasn't exactly subtle starting with Dawn).
I felt like Romero thought we were idiots, and that we wouldn't get his critique of social classes unless he actually made all the rich live in an inaccessible tower... Since the average viewer wouldn't be twelve years old, something a bit more understated would have worked.
Well hello mysterious new commenter...ah yeah.
Yeah, he did keep having his characters repeat the themes of the movie over and over again, but this movie seems to be the epitome of subtle when you compare it to Diary Of The Dead. Jesus Christ! Awful.
