This is not as great as everybody says. His rhymes are really good, and I love the metaphors he comes up with, but his beats are totally lame. Sorry, pallie, that's most of it for me.

I was listening to that album in the car today, and I think you're straight whack, G. The beat for "New York State of Mind" set the standard for East coast hip hop, and the Wild Style sample on "The Genesis" is hard as fuck.
You've also neglected the critic's responsibility to provide examples of how it should be done. Whose 1990's East coast beats are better?
I only have 5 sentences to make the review. And Wu Tang Clan, for starters, has better beats.
Debatable, but let's not quibble. Nas doesn't need me to stick up for him. He'll inflict composition /of pain he's like scarface sniffin' cocaine / holdin' an M16... Well, you get the point.
Hey, look, I'm the only person on planet Earth who apparently doesn't think this album is great, so I'm clearly in the minority here. I still like it. Above a 50% is good on this review blog.
I like this album a lot more now than I did when I reviewed it. My bad, it's halftime.
I'm always right about everything. Like if I wanna misspell "though" as "thought," then that's what it means.
I wrote like a fucking retart back then, though. Brady Bunch motherfucker.
