2007-2008 Ottawa Senators

These guys are not going to luck their way into the Stanley Cup Finals this year hate to break it to you. I mean, they still do well somehow, but they're hit and mostly miss. It's my favorite team and everything I guess, but let's be realistic, ok?

RATING: 72%

Sorry--typo.
I stopped caring about the Senators when Hasek left, sort of like I stopped caring about the Canadiens when Roy left, not like I've ever followed non-world hockey that closely anyway. Canada has a really hard time keeping any talent in the country because not only do they make shittier money here but they have to pay over half of it in income tax. So I don't really blame anyone for leaving. It's a good country to be a loser in, but if you're exceptional it doesn't make much sense to stay, unless you really like giving your money and time to irresponsible, incompetent bureaucrats.

It seems like the older I get, the more I start to sound like Ayn Rand or something. Ugh.

Well, at least the Canadian dollar is stronger than the American dollar?

Yeah, and it's funny how Americans get so mad about that. When I was doing my practicum in Maine, my students had an attitude like, "You canadians just want to come over the border with your big fancy dollars and buy all our stuff. I was like, "Don't worry kids, you're not going to run out of stuff.

Despite the fact that every practically single American I know used to make fun of me for the Canadian dollar being worth less than the American, now when I bring up the shift they get kind of angry.
