As many of you know, I am a huge Devo fan. And while I love the synthesizers and general new waviness of later Devo albums, this one is the most flawless despite being the most guitar driven. So basically if you like having your faced rocked away in a novel and exciting way, you might as well give this album a listen because it's probably in my top 25 or whatever.

I take it back. There is such a thing as too nerdy.
You know. I'm actually liking Devo more and more these days. There was a time I didn't like them at all, but I made the unfortunate mistake of basing that opinion on "Whip It" being such an 80s staple. There were many other songs that were so much better, but oh so underrated.

PS--I still don't understand why VH1 called Devo a one hit wonder. I guess that's why VH1 kind of sucks. Then again, VH1 also described them as being one of the greatest rock bands ever, so I guess more a matter of inconsistency than suckiness.
ADDENDUM:
Just for the sake of clarification, when I said that there were many other better, underrated songs than "Whip it," I meant that there were many better, underrated BY DEVO than "Whip It".
End of addendum.
Addenum reduex:
I just realized that I forgot to mention that Whip It was the only I knew by them for a long time, and that, I am sorry to admit, is what also based my judgement on them. I more recently realized what a good band they actually are after seeing them as more than the band who did "Whip It".

PS--I am also sorry to admit that I wrote my first comment while I was brain dead--hence all addendums. Sorry. I'll try to do better next. I can't promise, though.
