This movie is a lot better than I remember it. Natalie Wood's acting and accent are tres ridiculous and pretty racist, but apart from that it's solid. Robert "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" Wise directs a great visual movie, with a lot of terrific symmetrical shots and some songs that are great. I love all the long shots, for example. Also it's tough not to sing along with songs like "I Feel Pretty" especially when I feel so pretty.

This has to be one of the musicals I actually do like, though I have to agree that Natalie Wood as a Puerto Rican is pretty ridiculous.

Well I like it, but nowhere near as much as I like Singin' In The Rain.
Truthfully, I do like Singing in the Rain alot better now than I did a few years back. I guess I've become alot more open minded to musicals (as well as Devo) in my older years. Yet, I don't know if I like one over the other. But then again, there isn't Natalie Wood protraying a Puerto Rican character in Singing in the Rain. And then, there's the Gene Kelly factor, so maybe Singing in the Rain ranks a little higher.
I still say West Side Story is one of my favorites, though.

nothing compares to your performance today at Gulf Coast.
Nothing compares to you sucking my balls and eating my shit.
