The Big Bang Theory

The Big Bang Theory is an American sitcom currently in its third season on CBS. The show centers around two Caltech physicist roommates: Leonard and Sheldon. Leonard, the more socially adjusted of the two, carries the emotional arcs of the series, often showcasing his on-again-off-again relationship with his attractive neighbor Penny. Sheldon, the breakout character, appears to have either an autistic spectrum disorder or Asperger syndrome, but in a fun way. The show balances typical sitcom plots with funny characters and clever, geek friendly humor.

Hey! That girl is kinda good looking and those characters appear to be displaying something dangerously close to chemistry. Just what kind of blog do you think we're running here?

You can restore balance by reviewing anything in which masked men in singlets try to kill each other. You get bonus points if they're hydrocephalic and have green skin.

From Wiki:

A breakout character is a fictional character that becomes the most popular, talked about, and imitated, sometimes but not always becoming the main character. Most often a breakout character in a television series captures the audience's imagination and helps to popularize the show, sometimes inadvertently.

Think Fonzie on Happy Days or Urkel on Family Matters.

I am eternally confused by this show, but the physicist I've been dating swears to me it's supposed to be funny. Oddly, that isn't a joke, it's just my weird life.

While this show isn't Arrested Development caliber funny, it's the first sitcom I've been into since Arrested Development got canceled. It's worth checking out if you need a break from Dexter, Lost or any of those other serialized dramas that everyone loves so much.

Very few shows are Arrested Development caliber funny. I'm really in love with 30 Rock, though. That shit kills me.
