Michael & Michael Have Issues

Michael & Michael Have Issues was a short-lived comedy series from 2009 that featured Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter (both of The State, Stella, and Wet Hot American Summer). The conceit of the series was that it followed the lives of the two Michaels on and off the set of a sketch show they hosted called Michael & Michael. While not an entirely original premise for a series, the best moments on the show featured the Michaels being petty and horrible towards one another and their staff. Black and Showalter are both excellent performers of semi-improvised self-depricating humor. The series was cancelled after seven episodes.

Yeah, riddle me this: Freaks and Geeks didn't even last a season, and That 70's Show ran for eight.

OK, that's not a question. Fuck.

Michael & Michael Have Issues was good, but not that good. Perhaps, in time, they might have developed the show a little more and it might have caught on, but who knows?

Whether or not a show gets cancelled usually has a lot to do with what network it's on. Comedy Central, which aired M&MHI, burns through a lot of shows.

And a rhetorical question to end this comment: which is worse: a good show that's short-lived or a mediocre show that drags on and on for years?
