You probably think of a candle as a source of light or maybe heat, but it's also symbolic of the American Dream. Our forefathers used candles made of tallow to light the room as they penned important documents like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. But for me, candles conjure images of the Emancipation Proclamation, 19th century classical music, sex and Chinese food. These days candles are used for religious purposes and other shit. Honestly, candles are boring but chicks dig them. So don't sweat the next present for your womyn. Hint: Don't buy her a candle. Just kidding, she'll love it (don't really buy her one).RATING: 67%

ReplyDeleteApparently the concept of intermission during plays came from the need to trim the candles halfway through a performance, once theatre moved indoors to performance halls from outdoor amphitheatres. I guess those old wicks would smoke worse than Internet John with a pack of perique cigarettes.
